BEYOND the Home Herbalist Series

Many of our common ailments and health concerns can easily be managed with medicinal herbs and healing foods. We’ll start with an overview of backyard medicine and then look at seven common health concerns in depth. Each class will feature a unique herbal remedy to compliment the weeks’ topic, helping to expand your creativity with fun ways to take your herbal medicine! Wild Winter Herb Walk

Friday, February 24, Noon - 2 pm

Wintergreen Botanicals & Bear Brook State Park, Allenstown, NH

Venture out into the brisk, winter wonderland of Wintergreen Botanicals and Bear Brook State Park to see what medicines still lie within your reach. We’ll focus on pine, hemlock, and other common evergreens, how to make teas, tinctures, and honeys for the cold season, as well as craft ideas to bring life to your home this winter. Depending on snow cover, we may dig out some wintergreen and partridgeberry.  If we’re lucky, we may see some moose, deer, and coyote tracks in our path. Please wear appropriate clothing for walking outdoors; snowshoes are recommended but may not be necessary depending on conditions. $15.
